Melchizedek
(Melchisedec/Melchizedek) is Jesus Christ

Lately I have been hearing from people that Christianity is not necessarily the best religion.

Part of the basis of this belief is that Christ has only existed for a little over 2000 years, or some variation of this.

I have decided to find some verses from the King James Bible to create a link between the Jesus Christ of the New Testament and his identity and some of his deeds and interactions of the Old Testament.

I admit that these are collections of verses taken out of context. My intent was simply to gather together verses to show in the words of Paul, John , Isaiah proof that Jesus not only existed before he was borne in the flesh but he interacted with flesh people in the Old Testament.

I, in no way want anyone to take my word for this, I have provided you with verses and the book of the bible, chapter and verse where my material was obtained. It is up to the reader to get their Bible and look these verses up and read the full context of all of these verses. It is only by reading the word of God in it’s pure form that wisdom can be obtained. I just did some research for you to make it easier to read.

Melchisedec:

Genesis:

  • Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: (Genesis. 14:18)
  • and he was the priest of the most high God. (Genesis. 14:18)

    Hebrews:

  • For this Melchisedec
  • King of Salem (peace). (Hebrews 7:1)
  • Priest of the most high God. (Hebrews 7:1)
  • Met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings. (Hebrews 7:1)
  • Received a tithe (10%) of all from Abraham. (Hebrews 7:6)
    • Without father (Hebrews 7:3)
    • without mother (Hebrews 7:3)
    • without descent (Hebrews 7:3)
    • having neither beginning of days, nor end of life. (Hebrews 7:3)
    • made like unto the Son of God. (Hebrews 7:3)
    • abideth a priest continually. (Hebrews 7:3)
    • Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. (Hebrews 7:16)

    • Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (Hebrews 1:2)
    • Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:3)

    John:

  • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
  • The same was in the beginning with God. (John 1:1)
  • All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:1)
  • In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (John 1:1)
  • And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (John 1:1)
  • And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.(John 1:14)
  • Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. (John 8:58)

    Isaiah:

  • For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. (Isaiah 54:5)

This example is a bit longer but I believe it is necessary to prove that it is the Old Testament being discussed by Paul:

1 Corinthians 10:2-9
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. (ref. Numbers 21:6)
