THE RAPTURE - NOT
| Luke 4:17-21 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Isaiah 61:1-3 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
Is there anything said between "the acceptable year of the LORD" and "the day of vengence of our God" to indicate any sort of rapture of the Church? |

1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Let's understand these verses. 13 This verse lets us know that we are to learn WHERE THE DEAD ARE! "them which are asleep." 15 "which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep." This simply says that the dead are already with the Lord so we can't get there first. It also says that we aren't going anyplace UNTIL the coming of the Lord. "WITH THE TRUMP OF GOD".
17 "in the clouds" Paul used the term "clouds" (in greek) the same way we us the word crouds:
"in the air":
This is in reference to "the breath of life" which is the spirit. Here is 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 with the translations corrected: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. (he is coming here) 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
(the dead are with the Lord, we can't get there first) 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds(crouds), to meet the Lord in the air (in the spirit): and so shall we ever be with the Lord. |

2 Thessalonians 2:2-4 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. |
